Francisco Conceicao feels Juventus ‘deserved the victory’ against Roma, while Gleison Bremer has praise for ‘demanding’ Luciano Spalletti.

This was a huge head-to-head for fourth place, and a potentially decisive match in the race for a Champions League qualification spot.

The Bianconeri took the lead just before half-time with a precise Francisco Conceicao angled drive, then Lois Openda celebrated his first Serie A goal, ready to turn in the rebound from a parried Weston McKennie header.

Tommaso Baldanzi pulled one back late on, but Kenan Yildiz also hit the upright in a 2-1 victory.

“I think we deserved the victory. We knew how important the game was and we did our job, we won, we’ve got to be up there,” Conceicao told Sky Sport Italia.

Are Juventus back in the race for a top four finish or for the Scudetto?

“We are up there, that is what we must do. We’ve got to win matches, we won two important games now, and have to keep going like this.”

Bremer made his return to the starting XI for the first time since that meniscus tear in his knee back on September 27, and brought solidity to the Bianconeri defence.

“I had this nasty injury, but I’ve been working with the team for two weeks and knew I had to be ready when called upon. I wasn’t able to play the whole game, but we had expected this,” Bremer told Sky Sport Italia.

When he got injured, Igor Tudor was still the coach, so how has Luciano Spalletti changed things for Juventus?

“The coach is very demanding, which is only right, as we are Juventus and must always want more. He is a good coach, giving us a lot of information, we are playing more with the ball and you can see the results,” concluded Bremer.
