Confirmed Arsenal Women team to face London City Lionesses in WSL opener | OneFootball

The Women’s Super League returns today for our Gunners with their WSL season opener at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal Women welcome newly promoted side London City Lionesses to N5, with kick-off at 1.30pm UK time. If you can’t make it to the match, you can watch all the action live on BBC One’s Match of the Day with coverage from 1:15pm.

Arsenal Women had a stunning 2024-25 season, winning the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the first time since 2007 by beating then reigning champions Barcelona Femení.

Our Gunners finished in 2nd place in the WSL last season, 12 points behind reigning champions Chelsea.

Arsenal will be going all out under Renee Slegers to turn around their fortunes in the WSL this season – and bring the WSL trophy back to north London. With Chelsea registering a 2-1 win over Manchester City this weekend, the pressure is on the Gunners to ensure a win at the Emirates today and secure all 3 points.
