A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona has cut short his summer vacation, to kickstart his preparations for the new season.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point to Andreas Christensen as the player in question.
Stopper Christensen is of course fresh off something of a season to forget in 2024/25.
All told, owing to a pair of long-term injury problems, the Dane was restricted to just six appearances across all competitions.
As much has given rise to inevitable chatter surrounding his future, amid suggestions that Christensen could be moved on before the summer is out.
The former Chelsea man himself, though, appears fully focused on convincing Hansi Flick and his staff of his readiness to contribute in 2025/26.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of MD that:
‘The latest player to cut short his vacation time was Andreas Christensen, whose return was already speculated to be brought forward. Indeed, the Dane completed his first solo training session this Wednesday.’
The 29-year-old joined youngsters Marc Bernal and Ibrahim Diarra at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, with Ronald Araújo expected to follow suit over the days ahead.
