Championship clubs Birmingham City and Portsmouth have both been punished by the FA
Birmingham City and Portsmouth have both been punished by the FA following the conclusion of the 2025/26 Championship season.
Pompey and Blues played out a 1-1 draw on the final day of the campaign, with goals coming from Adrian Segecic and August Priske, respectively.
Birmingham began the season with promotion aspirations, despite only winning the League One title in 2025, but ultimately had to settle for a 10th-place finish.
Meanwhile, Portsmouth successfully avoided relegation from the Championship for a second consecutive season, finishing eight points above the drop zone.

Birmingham travelled to Fratton Park on the final day of the 2025/26 season, where they played out their aforementioned 1-1 draw with Pompey.
Following their draw on the South Coast, Blues finished the Championship campaign with the fourth-worst away record in the second tier, which is something they must improve on next term to land a play-off finish.
Meanwhile, only Norwich City, Oxford United, Leicester City, Blackburn Rovers, and Sheffield Wednesday had a worse home record than Portsmouth, who managed to avoid relegation nonetheless.
The final day meeting between Pompey and Blues witnessed a mass confrontation in the 80th minute, which has seen both clubs sanctioned with differing fines.
An FA statement released on Monday revealed that Birmingham have been fined £85,000, whereas the Fratton Park club have faced a £53,125 penalty.
Both clubs admitted to the charges made against them, and an independent Regulatory Commission imposed the sanctions.
In the reverse fixture at St Andrew's Stadium, Blues thrashed Pompey 4-0 thanks to goals from Seung-Ho Paik, Tomoki Iwata, Christoph Klarer, and Keshi Anderson.
Birmingham and Portsmouth will find out next season's Championship fixture list on 25 June, 10 days after the summer transfer window opens.

Birmingham have flexed their financial muscles under the ambitious ownership of Knighthead Capital management, and are set for another busy summer transfer window.
The fact that the Championship play-offs have been expanded gives Blues a greater chance of winning promotion next season, and there will be more pressure on boss Chris Davies to deliver success.
As reported by German outlet Bild, Hertha Berlin are among the clubs interested in Birmingham striker Marvin Ducksch, who has struggled for consistency in the second tier.
Selling the 32-year-old would help Davies' men further bolster their squad ahead of what could prove to be an exciting 2026/27 season.
Meanwhile, Portsmouth boss John Mousinho has called for more investment from owner Michael Eisner, as he wants his club to achieve more than just mere Championship survival.
As reported by Alex Crook via X in April, Bristol City were interested in Mousinho.
However, the Robins have subsequently appointed former Lincoln City boss Michael Skubala, bolstering Pompey's chances of retaining their manager ahead of next season.
According to TEAMtalk, Portsmouth have eyed a move for Rangers starlet Calum Adamson, amid rival interest from fellow Championship clubs Middlesbrough and Bristol City.
Acquiring the youngster would help appease Mousinho.
Birmingham and Portsmouth have different aspirations ahead of next season, while their relatively small FA fines will not hinder their respective summer transfer business.
