How Marcus Rashford is faring with Barcelona

While the Blaugrana are planning to do their utmost to haggle and pay a lower price for Rashford, United have informed them that if they don’t shell out the full amount,  they won’t be signing him.

United’s former No.10 has enjoyed a new lease of life plying his trade in Catalonia, so he is adamant about staying at Camp Nou beyond the summer and putting pen to paper on a long-term deal.

That being said, Rashford would undoubtedly like to be featuring more than he is currently; he has started only 14 of the 26 La Liga matches he’s been available for, and was an unused substitute for Barcelona’s recent clash with Sevilla, as well as for last night’s crunch Champions League last-16 tie at home to Newcastle United.

United shortlist Newcastle star Anthony Gordon

As per FootballFancast, INEOS chiefs are considering Anthony Gordon as a suitable successor to Rashford.

The Merseyside-born Everton graduate, who was a boyhood Liverpool fan, has spent the last three-and-a-half years with Newcastle, establishing himself as a trustworthy attacker who can, when necessary, rise up to the occasion.

For example, Gordon notched a hugely impressive 10 goals and two assists in the UCL prior to the Magpies’ exit. In the league, he has found the back of the net five times in 24 matches.

The report adds that both Arsenal and Liverpool are also keeping tabs on the 25-year-old’s situation. It remains to be seen if he could angle for a move away from St. James’ Park if Newcastle fail to qualify for Europe.
