Conor Chaplin ‘to undergo’ Leicester medical ahead of free transfer | OneFootball

Conor Chaplin is undergoing a medical at Leicester City ahead of a move, The Telegraph reports.

Linked since the end of the 2025/26 campaign, the forward spent last season on loan at Portsmouth. His Ipswich Town contract expired in June, leaving him a free agent.

City were competing with Lincoln City for his signature and it appears Russell Martin’s side have won the race. Chaplin could be Leicester’s first summer signing if he is announced before Danny Ings.

Ings is expected to join after leaving Sheffield United and is understood to have completed his medical late last week. The potential double addition would bolster Martin’s attack following the departures of Jordan Ayew and Patson Daka.

Chaplin scored two Championship goals for Pompey last term, having hit 22 in Ipswich’s promotion season. The year before, he netted 26 in League One, often operating behind the striker and joining attacks, and was among the Tractor Boys’ most consistent performers.
