Corinthians have stepped up talks to take Alisson on loan from São Paulo, and are weighing a counter-offer worth R$ 1.5 million.

According to Globo.com, São Paulo also want Corinthians to cover the midfielder’s full wages and pay a bonus of about R$ 1.5 million if he reaches an appearances threshold.

If accepted, the loan would run until the end of 2026, with an option to buy.

An initial idea of a player swap was shelved after Dorival Júnior and Hernán Crespo rejected it, and São Paulo dismissed the list of potential Corinthians makeweights.

Talks then shifted to a loan, with Corinthians pushing for no upfront cost because of the club’s financial strain, while São Paulo have demanded monetary compensation to release Alisson.

Alisson is valued by Dorival Júnior, who oversaw his move from forward to a more defensive midfield role, but he has lost his place under Crespo.

He has played only 45 minutes this season and was left out of São Paulo’s last two matches.

At Corinthians, he would compete for minutes with Breno Bidon, Matheus Pereira, André, José Martínez, André Carrillo, Charles and Bahia.
