Corinthians away tickets on sale for Velo Clube trip on 25 January | OneFootball

Away tickets went on sale on Friday for Corinthians’ trip to Velo Clube on 25 January. The match is at the Estádio Benito Ângelo Castellano in Rio Claro at 20:30, in the fifth round of the Paulistão.

A switch to the Mané Garrincha in Brasília had been considered. "There was a contract with a company in Brasília. At the end of last week they called us, and during the week there was a termination because of the Supercopa do Brasil between Corinthians and Flamengo on 1 February. Corinthians were Copa do Brasil champions, so it will not be possible to play there," said Velo Clube president Reginaldo Breda to Jornal Cidade de Rio Claro.

"The board thought about playing at the Benitão and that is what we are working on. It is not pressure from fans. Velo will do what is best for Velo," he added.

Sales are via Total Ticket. Prices are R$ 250 for the uncovered East section and R$ 220 for the uncovered South, and half-price allocations are sold out. Home fans will be in the covered area only.

Corinthians last played at the Benitão in 1999, beating Rio Claro 6-0 in a friendly. Their most recent game there against Velo Clube came in the 1979 Paulista and finished 0-0.

Dorival Júnior’s side continue preparations for the third round of the Campeonato Paulista. They are scheduled to face São Paulo at the Neo Química Arena on Sunday at 16:00.
