Corinthians campaign against violence to women at Brasileirão match

Corinthians will host Mirassol at the Neo Química Arena on Saturday night, October 4, at 9 pm (Brasília time), in a match for the 27th round of the Brazilian Championship. Currently, the Alvinegro is in 13th place with 30 points (seven wins, nine draws, and 10 losses - 26 goals scored and 32 conceded).

For the match, Corinthians has joined the campaign "Elas Jogam Junto", which is promoted by OAB-SP, through the Women Lawyers Commission, and will promote an awareness action against violence towards women. The action also takes place with other sports clubs and institutes.

Volunteers from the Commission will take the field at the Neo Química Arena, along with the athletes from Corinthians and Mirassol, with a banner "Elas Jogam Junto: Enough Violence Against Women". In addition, the action will also feature custom shirts, institutional videos, awareness messages on the Arena's sound systems, and some materials displayed on the stadium's big screen.

Educational booklets and sensitization content will be produced for the club's internal audience. The action took place for the first time on September 14, Sunday, in São Paulo's 1-0 victory over Botafogo, at Morumbi, for the 23rd round of the Brazilian Championship.

According to the Brazilian Public Security Forum, on football match days, violence against women increases by approximately 21%. In turn, police reports on these cases jump 23.7% when one of the city's clubs is playing.
