Corinthians discover quarter-final rivals in Women's Libertadores

Corinthians defeated Independiente Santa Fe-COL in a direct clash in the last round of the group stage of the Women's Libertadores. In the quarterfinals, the Brabas face Boca Juniors, scheduled for this coming Saturday, the 11th, with the time yet to be defined.

The team led by Lucas Piccinato finished first in Group A, with two wins and a draw. The Argentinians also arrive undefeated, with two draws and a win, qualifying in second place in Group B. The winner will face the qualifier from the match between Ferroviária and Independiente Del Valle-EQU.

In addition to being the defending champion, with the fifth title achieved last year, Corinthians is also eyeing the prize that will be awarded by Conmebol. Each club receives 50 thousand dollars for participation, but only the top three will receive additional amounts: third place gets $250,000; the runner-up will secure $600,000; and the champion $2 million (about R$ 10.68 million).

The other knockout matches take place this Thursday, the 9th, with the conclusion of Groups C and D. Corinthians can only face teams from this bracket in a possible final. Among these is São Paulo, the main nemesis of the Brabas this 2025 season.

To advance, the club from Parque São Jorge will have to tip the balance in their favor against Boca Juniors, which currently stands at one win, one loss, and one draw. Additionally, the xeneize fans are expected to be present in large numbers at the game, which will take place at the Nuevo Francisco Urbano Stadium in Morón, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
