Corinthians open their Copa do Brasil last-16 tie against Internacional on Sunday, chasing prize money that could ease financial strain amid debts and three transfer bans. Fernando Diniz’s side visit Beira-Rio at 19:30, with the return at Neo Química Arena on Thursday the sixth at 20:00.

According to Meu Timao, reaching the quarter-finals is worth R$ four million from the CBF. Corinthians have already secured R$ five million this year, R$ two million for entering the fifth phase and R$ three million for advancing to the last 16.

The rewards rise sharply thereafter. Semi-finalists receive R$ nine million, the runners-up earn R$ 34 million and the champions collect R$ 78 million. Lifting the trophy would take Corinthians’ total to R$ 96 million, the club’s second-highest haul in the competition after R$ 97 million in 2025.

The tournament also offers continental places. The runners-up qualify for the Copa Libertadores preliminary phase, while the winners go straight into the following season’s group stage.

Corinthians entered in the fifth phase against Barra of Santa Catarina and won both legs 1-0. Jesse Lingard scored away in the first match, then Yuri Alberto sealed progression at Neo Química Arena.
