Corinthians begin their Copa Libertadores campaign away to Platense at Estadio Vicente López in Buenos Aires at 21:00. Fernando Diniz takes charge for the first time, with seven players out and one fitness doubt.
In defence, João Pedro Tchoca remains sidelined with pubalgia, ge.globo reports. Pedro Milans stayed in São Paulo after a thigh problem, according to ESPN, while left-back Hugo Farias is still recovering from arthroscopic surgery on the meniscus in his right knee.
In midfield, Charles is out, ge.globo says he missed recent training after an ankle knock and did not travel.
Up front, there are three further absences. Memphis Depay has a grade two injury to the right anterior thigh, Kaio César is in the final phase of rehab from perifibrotic inflammation in the back of the right thigh, and Gui Negão sustained a grade two strain in the right hamstring during the last FIFA window while with Brazil Under-20s.
There is also uncertainty over Yuri Alberto, who had a wisdom tooth removed in recent days but travelled with the squad to Argentina.
No player is on a caution threshold. Group E also includes Peñarol of Uruguay and Independiente Santa Fe of Colombia, who meet at 23:00 to complete the opening round.
