Corinthians hit by three transfer bans as Brazilian window opens | OneFootball

The Brazilian transfer window opens on Monday 20 July and runs to 11 September. Corinthians cannot register players due to Fifa and CBF bans.

According to Meu Timao, the first block was imposed on 21 May over a US$1.425 million debt to Philadelphia Union linked to José Martínez, which the club has appealed to CAS. Last week Fifa also fined the club US$225,000 for non-compliance in decisions tied to Martínez, Charles and Talles Magno.

A third ban arrived on Saturday from the CBF, a six-month freeze after late payment of the fifth instalment of a CNRD agreement. CAS has also ordered more than R$6 million be paid to Midtjylland over Charles.

The bans extend to the academy, so Under-17 and Under-20 signings are training without registration. Salaries were delayed last month, CLT wages are now paid but image rights remain overdue.

Even so, Corinthians are pursuing deals. Talks for forward Wesley of Al-Nassr are the most advanced, with Al-Nassr to cover most costs and a deal with the player in place. The board is trying to lift the bans to confirm him.

Arthur Melo could also arrive from Juventus, though wages are a hurdle. Juventus are expected to formalise an €18 million bid, plus €4 million in add-ons, for 20-year-old André Luiz. The 2026 budget targets R$151 million in sales, and Internacional are considering Pedro Raul.
