According to Meu Timao, Corinthians have been hit with three charges by the STJD after Sunday’s 3-2 win over São Paulo at Neo Química Arena in the 15th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
The club are cited under CBJD article 206 for roughly three minutes’ late return after half-time, fined at R$ 100 to R$ 1,000 per minute, and under article 191, inciso III, after referee Anderson Daronco recorded that goalkeeper Hugo Souza wore grey rather than the stipulated orange, similar to São Paulo’s outfield kit, a breach carrying a R$ 100 to R$ 100,000 fine.
The most serious count concerns objects thrown after São Paulo’s opener on 41 minutes, among them glasses, an electronic cigarette and a lighter. One struck Jonathan Calleri, sparking a brief commotion among players. Article 213, inciso III, sets a R$ 100 to R$ 100,000 fine and, in severe cases, loss of home advantage for one to 10 matches.
Corinthians identified three supporters and they were taken to Jecrim to give statements to the Polícia Civil.
The case is listed for Thursday at 11:00 at STJD headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, eighth and last on the docket, with auditor Pedro Gonet Branco as rapporteur.
Separately, São Paulo midfielder Damián Bobadilla has been charged under article 258 over a goal-celebration gesture and could face up to six matches. On the pitch, Corinthians players alleged an obscene act and sought a red card, but Anderson Daronco and VAR did not deem it worthy of dismissal. The CBF later deemed the incident interpretative and did not find an error by the referee.
The issue provoked discontent within Timão. Marcelo Paz, the club’s football executive, questioned the refereeing criteria, citing the recent dismissals of Allan and André Luiz for obscene gestures. Matheuzinho and Raniele echoed that view.
