Corinthians are hopeful of completing the mid-season break with the treatment room almost cleared, with forward Kayke the sole long-term absentee as he continues recovery from a left anterior cruciate ligament injury, due back next season.
On Wednesday at CT Joaquim Grava, Hugo Farias and Vitinho worked on the pitch under physiotherapy supervision and are expected to begin physical transition in the coming days, according to Globo.com.
Left-back Hugo Farias is rehabbing a lateral meniscus injury in his right knee sustained in early February.
Forward Vitinho has been out since early May with two muscle issues, a strain of the right hip obturator muscle and damage to the hamstring tendons at the back of the thigh.
Before the World Cup pause, only Hugo Farias, Vitinho, João Pedro Tchoca and Kayke were in the medical department. Tchoca underwent inguinal hernia surgery in early May and is already training on the pitch with the rest of the squad. The centre-back is likely to be available to Fernando Diniz’s staff when competition resumes.
Corinthians host Remo at Neo Química Arena in the Campeonato Brasileiro on 23 July. Before that, they face Cascavel in a friendly on 12 July in Cascavel.
