Corinthians kick off Paulistão with new squad numbers

Corinthians kicks off the 2026 season this Sunday (11th) at 4 PM (Brasília time), facing Ponte Preta at the Neo Química Arena for the first round of the Paulista Championship. The match marks not only Timão's debut in the state competition but also the official presentation of the new numbers for Breno Bidon and Vitinho in the professional squad.

After eight days of preparation, the team led by Dorival Júnior completed the final adjustments on the morning of this Saturday (10th) at the Dr. Joaquim Grava Training Center. The training session included video analysis, physical work, tactical activities, and set-piece rehearsals, aiming for the first official commitment of the year.

Among the new features for the season, midfielder Breno Bidon will wear jersey number 7, while forward Vitinho takes on jersey number 11. The changes were highlighted by the players themselves on the eve of the debut.

“It's a number I've always used in my career. I like it a lot. It's also an honor to wear the number our teammate Romero used last season. Many other idols have worn it too, like Ricardinho and Sheik. I'm very happy to wear jersey 11. Projecting a great year, we want to start on the right foot in this first match. Give our best to come out victorious from the start and celebrate this gift I'm receiving,” said Vitinho.

Trained in the club's youth categories, Breno Bidon also commented on the responsibility of wearing jersey number 7 and projected Corinthians' season.

“It's a very good feeling. We know the importance of jersey number 7. Many important players for Corinthians have worn it. Now Maycon has also worn it a lot, and when I came up from the youth team, he helped and guided me. Wearing this jersey is very important and special for me. I hope it's a year of many achievements for us. We always have to expect the best when it comes to Corinthians. Last year we managed to become champions. Who knows, maybe we can do it again this year,” shared Bidon.
