Corinthians now know the full 2027 Campeonato Paulista field after Juventus and Ferroviária sealed promotion from the 2026 Série A2, according to Meu Timao. The top flight will feature 16 clubs.
Juventus clinched their return on Wednesday by beating Votuporanguense in the semi-finals, while Ferroviária eliminated Ituano. Ferroviária are back after relegation in 2023, Juventus end a 19-year absence, last seen in 2008.
Velo Clube and Ponte Preta dropped in 2026 and will play A2 next season. Juventus and Ferroviária will contest the A2 title, with dates to be set by the Federação Paulista de Futebol.
The format means Corinthians might not face both promoted sides in the first phase. Since 2026 the FPF have used a UEFA Champions League-inspired model and it is expected to continue.
Teams play eight rounds, are split into four pots, A to D, and face three opponents from their own pot plus five drawn from the others. Juventus and Ferroviária should be in pot D, so only one can meet Corinthians early. Meetings remain possible in the knockouts.
Corinthians lead the series against Juventus, 81 wins, 41 draws and 20 defeats in 142 games. Versus Ferroviária, they have 47 wins, 21 draws and 16 defeats.
Corinthians will chase a 32nd title, extending their record. Palmeiras have 27, São Paulo and Santos 22 each. The 16 confirmed clubs are Corinthians, Botafogo-SP, Red Bull Bragantino, Capivariano, Ferroviária, Guarani, Juventus, Mirassol, Noroeste, Novorizontino, Palmeiras, Portuguesa, Primavera, Santos, São Bernardo and São Paulo.
