Corinthians look to extend strong run against Vitória this Saturday

On the afternoon of this Saturday, October 25, at 4 PM (Brasília time), Corinthians will take the field to face Vitória at Barradão, in a match valid for the 30th round of the Brazilian Championship. Timão enters the confrontation looking to extend its dominant record over the opponent.

Throughout their histories, Corinthians and Vitória have faced each other in 50 matches, with Timão emerging victorious on 27 occasions, drawing 16 times, and being defeated only seven times. Additionally, the confrontation includes 139 goals scored, with 89 for Corinthians and 50 for the red-blacks.

The record in matches valid for the Brazilian Championship is also favorable to Timão. There have been 40 games in the national competition, with 23 victories for Corinthians, 12 draws, and five victories for the team from Bahia. Moreover, Corinthians scored 73 goals, while Vitória scored 37.

The last duel between the clubs took place on June 1 of this year, at Neo Química Arena, for the 11th round of the Brazilian Championship. On that occasion, despite playing at home, the Alvinegro Paulista couldn't break the deadlock, and the match ended in a goalless draw.

Corinthians hasn't lost to the opponent since August 19, 2017, when they were defeated at Neo Química Arena in the Brasileirão. Since then, there have been seven encounters between the clubs, with three victories for the Alvinegro and four draws.

Now, Timão seeks an away victory to close in on the teams occupying the top part of the Brazilian Championship table. Currently, Corinthians is in 11th place in the standings, with 36 points in 29 rounds. They have achieved nine victories, nine draws, and 11 defeats so far.
