Corinthians return a day after the first FIFA window of 2026, aiming to reproduce last year’s strong post-break results.

According to Meu Timao, the five pauses in 2025 were followed by two wins, two draws and one defeat.

The March break for World Cup qualifying preceded a 0-0 draw with Palmeiras, then the club secured their 31st Campeonato Paulista title.

After the June window, Corinthians drew 1-1 with Grêmio in the 12th round of the Brasileirão. In September, with European qualifiers and South American friendlies, they booked a Copa do Brasil semi-final by beating Athletico Paranaense 2-0.

The October return brought a 3-1 defeat to Santos in round 28. December’s resumption yielded a 3-1 win over São Paulo in round 34.

This time, only André Carrillo, for Peru, and Hugo Souza, for Brazil, were called up. Memphis Depay had been in the Netherlands’ original squad but was withdrawn after a right anterior thigh strain sustained in the draw with Flamengo.

Corinthians visit Fluminense in the ninth round on Wednesday at 21:30 at the Maracanã, with the called-up pair unavailable in Rio.
