Corinthians host Palmeiras in the first derby of the year at Neo Química Arena on Sunday at 20:30, the seventh and penultimate round of the Paulista first phase. Head coach Dorival Júnior may have to cope with up to four absentees, with a further four at risk of suspension.
According to Meu Timao, the leading concern is forward Kaio César, a recent signing who left the 3-0 win over Capivariano with pain in his right hamstring, with tests confirming an injury.
Left-back Hugo Farias was also injured in the same match, diagnosed with a lateral meniscus injury in his right knee.
Centre-back Cacá is another likely absentee, as he is in talks with Athletico-PR. He was not named in the last matchday squad and is expected to miss the derby list as well.
The fourth absence is expected to be midfielder José Martínez, who has returned to Brazil in recent days and is not expected to be available.
Four Corinthians players start the derby one booking from suspension, midfielders Matheus Pereira, André Luiz and André Carrillo, plus striker Yuri Alberto. If they are booked, they will miss the final group-stage round against São Bernardo.
In the table, Corinthians sit fifth on 11 points. Victory would take them to 14 and up to second place, behind only Grêmio Novorizontino on 16.
