Corinthians’ crisis deepened as two judicial intervention requests were filed, a day after a contentious meeting suspended Deliberative Council chief Romeu Tuma Júnior. According to Meu Timao, one came from members and the other from a councillor.
Eighteen members from the Salvem o Corinthians collective petitioned São Paulo’s 2nd Bankruptcy and Judicial Recoveries Court, tying it to the Regime Centralizado de Execuções. They argue the court-approved payment plan warrants oversight and allege political capture limiting participation and scrutiny.
The filing cites alleged irregularities across recent administrations, including corporate card cases that made former presidents Andrés Sanchez and Duilio Monteiro Alves defendants, the VaideBet affair that removed Augusto Melo and ticket-touting claims. Stabile is accused of omissions over Nike materials, a Ticketmaster leak, REAG’s role and undisclosed EY work.
The members seek an injunction to suspend the presidents of the board, the council, Cori and the Fiscal Council, plus councillors deemed involved or complicit. They nominate José Kobori to lead the board and Hélio Viana for the council.
They also ask the court to order an independent audit, hiring a CEO, a marketing firm and a legal superintendent, a review of the Caixa contract on the Neo Química Arena debt, five public hearings on statute reform and SAF, a General Assembly vote and the suspension of all 137 councillors present on Monday.
Councillor and judge Leandro Cano asked prosecutor Luiz Ambra Neto to act, alleging irregular convocation under article 82, quorum of 130 and seeking steps toward possible intervention.
