Corinthians prepare to face Grêmio in Brasileirão without Memphis

On the afternoon of this Tuesday, the 28th, Corinthians resumed training at CT Joaquim Grava, beginning preparations for the clash with Grêmio in the next round of the Brazilian Championship, a match that will take place this Sunday, the 2nd, at 4pm (Brasília time) at Neo Química Arena. The team is seeking another victory to continue closing the gap in points to the G6 of the standings.

The session started in the gym, with strength training. Afterwards, already on the pitch, the players warmed up and participated in possession and pressing drills, as well as a specific training focused on attack versus defense duels, emphasizing intensity and regaining possession after losing the ball.

Goalkeeper Hugo Souza remains absent, as he is still recovering from an acromioclavicular dislocation in his left shoulder and is undergoing internal treatment. Another absence, however, was unexpected: forward Memphis, who is in Rio de Janeiro, intended to return by helicopter and was authorized to land at the CT, but was unable to take off at the scheduled time (12:30pm) due to weather conditions.

The club reported that throughout the day, the Dutchman stayed in contact with management and is still trying to return to São Paulo. It's important to note that the capital of Rio de Janeiro is experiencing an unusual day, with recommendations from City Hall for residents to avoid going out.

Timão will resume training on the morning of this Wednesday (29th), again at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava. The team will have four more days of preparation before the match against Grêmio, scheduled for Sunday (2nd) at 4pm at Neo Química Arena.
