Corinthians president Osmar Stabile ‘to face’ new impeachment bid over Nike case defence | OneFootball

Corinthians president Osmar Stabile faces a fresh impeachment request over his stance in the probe into alleged diversions of Nike kit.

The move was filed by associate and judge Leandro Cano with Conselho Deliberativo chief Romeu Tuma Júnior, and was first reported by Blog do Macedo.

Cano cites an MP-SP submission by promoter Cássio Roberto Conserino, claiming Stabile’s court statement echoed the defence of second vice-president on leave Armando Mendonça, weakening Timão’s position.

In early June, MP-SP charged Armando Mendonça with multiple offences, including qualified and continued embezzlement, aggravated theft and coercion during proceedings. The indictment alleges he appropriated 131 items between June and October 2025 and tried to remove 19 NFL-patch shirts after the 1-1 draw with Palmeiras on 31 August 2025. Stabile, representing the club, said an internal audit did not conclude he diverted kit and he rejected that alleged attempt.

The filing alleges institutional shielding, saying Stabile ignored audit findings and prematurely ruled out Corinthians as a victim, harming the club’s assets and image. It cites the Statute and Lei Geral do Esporte to suggest reckless management risks.

Cano seeks to open impeachment, refer the case to the Comissão de Ética e Disciplina and notify Stabile to respond, adding the MP submission as evidence. He asks for a finding of incompatibility and removal.

Two earlier bids are pending. One contests a PGFN debt deal that offered Parque São Jorge as collateral without approvals. Another questions hiring Mega Assessoria Operacional Ltda. without a contract, now under MP-SP scrutiny.
