Corinthians release around 50 players from Under-12 and Under-13 squads

Corinthians has been carrying out a deep overhaul of its youth divisions over the past six months, both in its staff and by releasing athletes. This time, according to information from ge.globo and confirmed by Central do Timão, the Alvinegro club has released around 50 players from the Under-12 and Under-13 categories.

Although the exact number was not disclosed, the club says the figure was about five dozen. The measure aims to ease the overcrowding in the department and make room for other young talents to be recruited through tryouts and evaluations, led by the club's scouts.

As published by ge.globo and also confirmed by Central do Timão, the number of releases was higher than in previous years because, at the end of 2024, there were no releases under the management of the ousted president Augusto Melo. As a result, the number was 'compensated' this year.

According to the report, the list of releases followed technical criteria and was signed by the coaches of each category. Currently, the general director of the department is Carlos Roberto Aurrichio (Nenê do Posto), who was appointed to the position after Osmar Stabile took over the presidency of the Alvinegro club.

The director has been working alongside Erasmo Darmiani, the department executive who was recently hired. Since then, Nenê do Posto has been cutting costs in the department, releasing athletes with high costs who added little to the club. Beyond the pitch, changes in the staff have also been implemented.
