Corinthians share behind-the-scenes of 10th round Paulistão win

Last Saturday, Corinthians once again confirmed their strength in the Women's Paulista Championship by defeating Taubaté 3-0 at Estádio Joaquinzão, in the 10th round of the competition. With a solid and controlled performance from the initial whistle, the Brabas dominated their opponents and secured three more important points towards qualifying for the next phase.

The victory was captured on video by Corinthians TV, which showed the behind-the-scenes of the delegation's journey, from leaving Fazendinha to arriving in the São Paulo countryside. The production highlighted the balance between the group's lightheartedness and the seriousness required before the match.

Before the warm-up, coach Lucas Piccinato gathered the players to reinforce the strategy and mindset required for the duel.

“This is what we are going to face, and we are going to play a great game, regardless of the field's quality. I want quality in your passing, quality in your control, to maintain progressive possession. With the quality we have, we will seize opportunities to calm the game. If we score a goal within 15 minutes here, we eliminate any possibility for Taubaté, and then we can have a calmer second half. For that, seize the opportunities you have, qualify, go for the rebound, enter (the area) with intensity to create the best possible situation and leave here with a great result”, he said.

During the on-field warm-up, the physical trainer emphasized the importance of maintaining focus, even with the intense heat.

“It's damn hot. We need to be wise to stop the game when necessary, and knowing when to accelerate will also be important. The most important thing in the end: winning. I don't know how it will be, whether we will score a lot of goals, but in the end, the most important thing is to win and leave here with the victory, which will allow us to qualify (for the next phase)”, he reinforced.

In the minutes leading up to the start of the match, Piccinato once again emphasized individual seriousness for the benefit of the collective.

“Enter with a level of individual concentration that is independent of anything, the field, the mood, independent of whatever the hell it is, so that individually we play a great game and the collective stands out. Today we can qualify for the next phase of the championship. That is the goal: to qualify. So enter focused, play a good game, and let's leave here with the spot”, he instructed.

Despite an initial pressure from the home team, Corinthians soon took control of the match. Ball possession became largely in favor of the alvinegras, although the clearest chances only emerged towards the end of the first half.

At 37 minutes, Juliete opened the scoring with a cross that surprised the opposing goalkeeper. Shortly after, at 42, Letícia Monteiro made a great individual play and found Ivana Fuso free in the area to extend the lead.

In the second half, Taubaté tried to launch an attack, but it was Corinthians who scored again. At 25 minutes, Ivana Fuso provided another assist, this time for Ariel Godoi, who finished precisely and sealed the 3-0 victory.

After the final whistle, the coach praised the team for their attitude and projected the next international challenge.

“Congratulations on the match and the commitment. And thank you everyone for the effort. It was a great game, very difficult to play here, damn it, and you all played excellently at every moment. Let's pray for a good return (to São Paulo) and that we have a great competition abroad (Libertadores), so that we make things happen as we have been doing,” he highlighted.

The festive atmosphere in the locker room also included a special celebration: the debut of the young full-back Rafa Rocha, 17 years old. As usual, the athlete was welcomed in the traditional “welcome corridor,” where the more experienced teammates gave symbolic taps, in a gesture of integration and relaxation after the victory.

With the result, Corinthians remains at the top of the Women's Paulista, with 27 points in 10 games, totaling nine wins and only one loss.

The Brabas' next commitment will be in the Women's Libertadores, against Independiente Del Valle from Ecuador, this Thursday, 2, at 4 p.m., at Estádio Lencho, in Buenos Aires.
