Corinthians have completed the season-long loan signing of Flamengo midfielder Allan, the club’s fifth addition of 2026. He was in São Paulo on Wednesday for medical tests and to sign at CT Dr Joaquim Grava.
The deal carries an option to buy set at two million euros, with no loan fee, Corinthians covering his wages. According to Meu Timao, Allan’s salary is about R$ 950,000 per month.
The move targets a priority area for Dorival Júnior after Maycon left for Atlético-MG. The need intensified when José Martínez suffered a left ACL rupture on his return, ruling him out for the season.
Born in Araçatuba, Allan came through São Paulo, Tanabi and Mirassol before joining Internacional at 16, switching from full-back to midfield under Ricardo Colbachini. He impressed at a 2015 tournament in Indonesia. Liverpool moved in mid-2015, paying about £500,000.
Despite Jürgen Klopp’s praise, work permit rules stopped him playing competitively in England, limiting him to friendlies. He was loaned to Eintracht Frankfurt, SJK, Sint-Truiden, Hertha Berlin and Apollon Limassol to gain minutes.
He returned in 2019 to Fluminense, extended a six-month deal and helped secure Série A survival and a 2020 Sudamericana spot. Atlético-MG bought him in early 2020 for three million euros, and he won the 2021 Brasileiro and Copa do Brasil, the 2022 Supercopa and four state titles, playing 170 games without scoring. Flamengo signed him in 2023 for about R$ 48.8 million, injuries curtailed his impact, and he profiles as a defensively minded ‘camisa five’.
