Corinthians sit 14th after Bahia defeat as Brasileirão opens | OneFootball

As the opening round concluded on Thursday night, Corinthians sat 14th in the 2026 Brasileirão after a 2-1 defeat to Bahia at Vila Belmiro.

According to Meu Timao, Dorival Júnior’s side have no points and are ahead of six clubs only on disciplinary tiebreakers, with fewer red and yellow cards separating teams with similar goal difference.

Nine sides won their openers. Botafogo lead after a 4-0 win over Cruzeiro, while Palmeiras and Atlético Mineiro played the round’s only draw, 2-2.

Corinthians will play the third round before the second because of the Supercopa do Brasil and the closing stages of the Paulista first phase. They host Red Bull Bragantino on 12 February at 20:00 at Neo Química Arena.

Before that, on Sunday at 16:00, they face Flamengo at Mané Garrincha in Brasília in the Supercopa do Brasil, seeking their first title of the year.
