Corinthians ‘to fine’ Allan after obscene gesture at Maracanã | OneFootball

According to ESPN, Corinthians have decided to fine midfielder Allan after he was sent off for making an obscene gesture during Wednesday’s defeat to Fluminense at the Maracanã. The amount has not been disclosed and will be deducted from the 29-year-old’s salary.

The dismissal came in the second half in Rio. Allan clashed with Lucho Acosta and, after repeatedly slapping his opponent’s arm, was shown a yellow card.

Following a VAR review, referee Davi de Oliveira Lacerda determined that the Corinthians player grabbed his genitals and shook them towards Serna of Fluminense, which prompted the red card.

Allan apologised on social media on Thursday for the incident.

He will miss Corinthians’ match against Internacional on Sunday at 19:30 Brasília time at Neo Química Arena, in the 10th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
