Corinthians to miss three for Majestoso derby in Paulista

Corinthians will host São Paulo this Sunday afternoon (18th) at 4 PM (Brasília time) at the Neo Química Arena, for the third round of the first phase of the 2026 Paulista Championship. Currently, the Alvinegro is in eighth place – the last spot within the qualification zone for the knockout stage – with three points. After defeating Ponte Preta in Itaquera in the opener, the Corinthians team was defeated 3-0 by RB Bragantino last midweek.

For the Majestoso, Dorival Júnior's coaching staff is not expected to count on: midfielders Raniele (ankle pain, according to ge.globo, and is doubtful) and José Martínez (still in Venezuela awaiting the reissuance of his passport to return to Brazil), as well as midfielder Rodrigo Garro (recovering from left wrist surgery) and forward Memphis Depay (physical conditioning).

Regarding the number 10, the Central do Timão found out last Friday (16th) that Corinthians' priority is for the player to be fully fit for the Supercopa do Brasil match on February 1st at Mané Garrincha in Brasília at 4 PM against Flamengo. On the other hand, forward Yuri Alberto, who came on in the second half against RB Bragantino, is expected to start the match.

Midfielder Matheus Pereira, recently signed from Fortaleza on loan until the end of the season, should be available for the Corinthians coaching staff for this Sunday's match in Itaquera. Therefore, the Alvinegro might start the classic with: Hugo Souza; Matheuzinho, André Ramalho, Gustavo Henrique, and Matheus Bidu; André Carrillo, Charles, André, and Breno Bidon; Vitinho (Gui Negão) and Yuri Alberto.
