Corinthians without five, three at risk for Cruzeiro clash in Brasileirão

Corinthians visits Cruzeiro this Wednesday night (25th), at 8:00 PM (Brasília time), at Mineirão Stadium, in a match valid for the fourth round of the 2026 Brazilian Championship. At this moment, the Corinthians team occupies fifth place in the national tournament with six points – two wins and one loss – four goals scored and two goals conceded.

For the match against the team from Minas Gerais, the Corinthians coaching staff will not be able to count on the following players: goalkeeper Felipe Longo (elbow discomfort, according to ge.globo), left-back Hugo Farias (recovering from surgery on his right knee), midfielder Matheus Pereira (grade 2 injury to the left thigh biceps femoris), as well as forwards Kaio César (grade 2 injury to the left thigh biceps femoris) and Yuri Alberto (treating an injury to the right posterior thigh muscle).

In total, 24 players have been called up. Corinthians, it is worth remembering, will also have to keep an eye on the three players who are one yellow card away from suspension; if they receive a third, they will not be able to face Coritiba on March 11, at 9:30 PM (Brasília time), at Neo Química Arena, for the fifth round of the Brazilian Championship. They are: left-back Matheus Bidu, right-back Matheuzinho, and defensive midfielder Raniele.

After facing Cruzeiro this Wednesday (25th) at Mineirão for the Brasileirão, Corinthians will shift its focus to the semifinals of the Paulista Championship. Next Saturday (28th), at 8:30 PM (Brasília time), the Corinthians team will visit Novorizontino, in Novo Horizonte, at Estádio Jorge Ismael de Biasi.
