Costa Rica defeats Guatemala to book spot in W Championship | OneFootball

SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica – The 2025/26 Concacaf W Qualifiers continued with Costa Rica securing a 3-nil win against Guatemala in Group C on Saturday at Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica in San José, Costa Rica.

Gloriana Villalobos broke the deadlock in the 13’ for Costa Rica to pull ahead with a spectacular right-footed hit from outside the box. 

Sheika Scott doubled the lead for the hosts in the 63’, capping off an individual play with a shot that took a deflection on its way to the back of the net. Mariana Benavides provided the assist on the play.

Priscila Chinchilla added a third for Las Ticas in the 88’, with a quick control and turn before striking with a right-footed finish inside the box. 

The result sees Costa Rica win Group C with a perfect 4-0-0 record to claim a spot in the 2026 Concacaf W Championship.

Guatemala closed out its campaign in second place of Group C with a 3-0-1 record.
