According to BuLi News, Vladimír Coufal is in talks with Hoffenheim over extending his deal beyond this season, and he would like to stay from a football perspective, although family considerations remain.

The 33-year-old full-back joined on a one-year contract in the summer after leaving West Ham United.

His family live in Prague, which he views as best for his children's education, and his son is in Slavia Prague's junior academy. Coufal commutes when possible or they visit him, an arrangement planned only for one year.

On the pitch he has been a success, helping Hoffenheim finish the first half of the season in fifth. He started all 15 matches and was directly involved in five goals.

Any renewal will weigh those personal factors alongside his on-field role, with discussions continuing.
