VfB Stuttgart play Bayern Munich in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup on Saturday and although Nick Woltemade’s future likely remains at die Schwaben, Kingsley Coman’s departure could reignite Bayern’s interest in the German forward.

Stuttgart CEO Alexander Wehrle issued an ultimatum to Bayern Munich regarding their pursuit of Woltemade, quoted by Stuttgarter Zeitung – via Kicker, saying: “We’re playing in the Supercup on Saturday. Everything should be sorted out by the kickoff at the latest.” If the 23-year-old features in the squad, then the player’s future for the 2025/26 remains in Stuttgart.

“It’s now a stretch of six-and-a-half weeks. At some point, that’s enough,” added Werhle. “If you absolutely want to sign the player, you should also be able to reach a solution in that time.”

Bayern Munich have already seen two offers rejected by Stuttgart – who hold all the negotiating cards – for Woltemade. The player has three years remaining on his current deal, and VfB are well within their rights to command a fee between €80m and €100m for their prized asset.

Kingsley Coman’s departure could work in Bayern Munich’s favour

Speaking last week, Max Eberl conceded Bayern Munich’s defeat in their bid to sign Woltemade but with the departure of Coman to Al-Nassr imminent for a reported €30m, die Bayern could well invest that into signing Woltemade.
