Inter Miami and Nashville SC could be set for another showdown after the 2026 CONCACAF Champions Cup draw, with any rematch dependent on Nashville beating Atlético Ottawa in February. According to interheron.com, it would be their ninth knockout meeting since 2020.

The rivals have already met 19 times, more than Miami have faced anyone else in high-stakes matches. Miami lead the overall series 10-5 with four draws.

Their latest series came in the 2025 MLS Cup first round, Miami winning 3-1, losing 1-2 at Geodis Park, then sealing it 4-0. They then beat FC Cincinnati, New York City FC and Vancouver Whitecaps to claim a first league title.

Mexican clubs have dominated the Champions Cup, winning 40 of 62 editions since 1962. In all but the final, ties are decided on aggregate, with away goals the first tiebreaker. Only three US sides have lifted it, D.C. United, LA Galaxy and Seattle Sounders.

Miami are set for a third straight campaign. They qualified for 2024 by winning the 2023 Leagues Cup against Nashville, then eliminated Nashville 5-3 on aggregate before Monterrey beat them 5-2 in the quarter-finals.

They returned in 2025 via the Supporters' Shield, a record 74-point season, then beat Sporting Kansas City 4-1, Cavalier FC 4-0 and Los Angeles FC 4-2 before losing to Vancouver in the semi-finals.
