Coventry City beat Sheffield United 2-1 at Bramall Lane on Wednesday to remain top of the Championship.

In the 48th minute, Harrison Burrows put the hosts ahead with a firm finish from Gustavo Hamer's pass. Haji Wright levelled from close range (52.), then Jack Rudoni glanced in the winner with a header (57.), both created by Ephron Mason-Clark. Michael Cooper kept the Blades in the game with smart stops from Tatsuhiro Sakamoto after the turnaround. At the other end, Carl Rushworth claimed high crosses and held a late effort to protect Coventry City's lead.

The Blades introduced Jairo Riedewald and Tyrese Campbell as they chased an equaliser. Campbell shot over soon after, with Ki-Jana Hoever and Tahith Chong also added late.

Six minutes of added time were played, including a brief stoppage for goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, but Coventry City saw it out with composure.

The Blades produced 22 attempts and 63.5% possession in a front-foot display. Coventry City were clinical, registering 11 attempts with five on target.

Next, the Blades visit Queens Park Rangers. Coventry City host Stoke City.
