Coventry City's play-off hopes were flickering prior to last night's clash against Portsmouth, but Sky Blues' assist merchant Jack Rudoni delivered when it mattered to help propel Frank Lampard's side back into the Championship's top six.

Rudoni stood up a late cross in the fourth minute of added time for sub Jamie Paterson to volley home a dramatic 94th minute decider in Coventry's 1-0 win over Pompey, and the former AFC Wimbledon and Huddersfield man is now joint-top of the assist charts in the second tier.

Level on 11 assists with Middlesbrough's Finn Azaz and West Brom's Tom Fellows, Rudoni has established himself as one of the most creative players in the Championship - the 23-year-old also ranking fourth in the division for key passes with 68.

A quick breakdown of Rudoni's assist stats show that he provides a threat from both open-play and set-pieces: the attacking midfielder supplying more goals from dead-balls (5) than any player in the Championship this term.

Now fully fit after a spell out injured, Coventry will look to playmaker Rudoni as they seek to bolt down a play-off spot. The Sky Blues are next in action on Monday when they travel to relegation-threatened Hull City in a game that neither can really afford to lose.
