Cremonese striker Federico Bonazzoli says that his overhead goal against AC Milan was “worth double” to him as an Inter Milan fan.
The 28-year-old spoke to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, after his team’s surprise 2-1 win over the Rossoneri yesterday.
Cremonese returned to Serie A in style yesterday. They handed AC Milan a shock 1-2 loss in Max Allegri’s first competitive match in charge of the club.
Naturally, the Grigiorossi had to dig in and suffer for a good portion of the match.
However, it was a spectacular overhead kick by striker Federico Bonazzoli in the second half which settled the match to give Davide Nicola’s team three massive points and a statement win.

Bonazzoli is a familiar face in Serie A. He has played for several teams in the Italian top flight, including Sampdoria, Hellas Verona, Torino, and Salernitana.
However, Bonazzoli got his start at Inter Milan. He came through the Nerazzurri’s youth ranks and played for them at multiple age levels before making a handful of appearances for the senior side.
And the 28-year-old has never lost his sense of connection with his boyhood club.
After the match, Bonazzoli commented that “I haven’t seen the goal back yet.”
“But it was beautiful. In this stadium, in this match, against a big team.., It’s beautiful.”
Meanwhile, Bonazzoli has already scored against Milan in the past, while playing for Salernitana.
However, the former Inter striker admitted that “This one was definitely better though.”
“We’re happy. We played a good match with the right attitude, and that will serve us well over the season.”
“A win like this against Milan is a great thing,” Bonazzoli said.
“I’m an Inter fan,” said the 28-year-old. “So for me this is worth double.”
“Then, it’s especially great because of how it happened. It brought the team three points in this stadium against a great team.”
“This is a dream goal,” Bonazzoli said. “I consider myself a lucky guy.”
