Seventh suspension raises fresh questions over club’s financial future

Crisis without end: Egyptian giant handed yet another FIFA ban
Zamalek’s ongoing financial turmoil has intensified after FIFA officially imposed new transfer ban on the Egyptian giants. This is the seventh registration suspension currently active against the club.
The decision was confirmed on Wednesday, with FIFA announcing that Zamalek are barred from registering new players for three consecutive transfer windows and this sanction that will remain in place until all outstanding financial disputes are fully settled.
While FIFA did not disclose specific details in its official statement, Multiple reports revealed that the latest sanction is linked to complaint filed by Portuguese side Estrela da Amadora.
The dispute concerns the transfer of Angolan forward Chico Banza after Zamalek reportedly failed to pay the first instalment of the deal, valued at €200,000.
As result.. FIFA moved to enforce registration ban until the overdue amount is cleared.
This latest punishment adds to growing list of FIFA sanctions imposed on Zamalek over the past month:
Both cases reportedly involve unpaid salaries & contractual obligations.
The transfer ban represents major setback for Zamalek’s sporting plans especially with the January transfer window approaching.
Unless the outstanding dues are paid, the club will be unable to strengthen its squad during crucial phase of the season.
