Cristiano Ronaldo struck twice before half-time against Uzbekistan on Tuesday to become the first player to score at six World Cup editions.
L'Équipe notes a series of milestones from the night. At 41 years and 138 days, Ronaldo is the second-oldest scorer in World Cup history, behind Roger Milla at 42 years and 39 days.
He is also the third player to be both his country's youngest and oldest World Cup scorer, following Michael Laudrup of Denmark and Lionel Messi of Argentina.
By scoring his ninth and 10th World Cup goals, he moved beyond Eusebio as Portugal's leading scorer at the tournament. Eusebio had nine.
