Crysencio Summerville has received positive news on a calf issue picked up in Monday’s penalty shoot-out win over Brentford, lifting hopes he could face Leeds United in the FA Cup.

According to The Guardian, a scan shows the winger has a minor calf injury and West Ham are confident it is not too serious, although he is likely to miss some games, with the likeliest return after the international break, presumably for the Leeds cup tie, and only a very slim chance of being ready to face Aston Villa next weekend, and it is a personal blow as he was going to be in the Netherlands squad.

Summerville has been integral in recent weeks, delivering seven goals and two assists in league and cup since the turn of the year. He has played every Premier League minute in 2026 and scored in four straight matches to underpin the Hammers’ recovery.

West Ham have reined in Nottingham Forest and Tottenham near the foot of the table. They are three points behind Leeds and meet them in the quarter-finals on April four, then again on the final day of the Premier League season.

The Dutchman spent four years at Elland Road, producing 25 goals and 13 assists in 89 appearances for the Whites. A cup reunion would carry extra significance.
