‘Currently Ahead’ – Club Have Edge In Race For West Ham Man | OneFootball

Juventus are currently ahead of fellow Serie A club Atalanta in the race to sign West Ham United defender Jean-Clair Todibo, who wants to leave the Hammers.

West Ham were relegated to the Championship last season and ended their 14-year stay in the Premier League.

Nuno Espirito Santo is trying to rebuild the squad, but at the same time is having to deal with players either having left or wanting to leave the London Stadium.

Todibo fell out with Nuno towards the end of last season and has been clear he does not want to play for the Portuguese tactician again.

His agents have been working on destinations and Todibo, who wants a move to happen quickly, has serious interest from Serie A.

Atalanta are interested in snapping up the centre-back, but they are facing competition from Juventus.

And, according to Italian outlet Tutto Juve, Juventus are ‘currently ahead’ of Atalanta in the race to sign Todibo, though much will ultimately depend on West Ham’s asking price.

Both clubs are hugely keen on Todibo, however any deal must make financial sense for it to proceed, making West Ham’s stance key.

It was suggested last month that Juventus were looking for a loan deal or a move ‘on favourable terms’, as the Italian giants are preparing for the potential departure of Brazilian defender Bremer.

However, Todibo not only garnered interest from Juventus and Atalanta in Italy, but also from Napoli, who see him as a plan B option.

Todibo also attracted interest from French outfit Marseille, but the Ligue 1 side’s desire for a loan deal and the Hammers’ wish to sell him permanently have cooled that trail.

The right-footed defender still has three years remaining on his current deal with West Ham, but with both the club and the player looking to part ways, a move this summer seems the most likely outcome.
