Dan Burn believes England can take inspiration from the way Argentina “fought for each other” at the last World Cup.
Argentina lifted the trophy in 2022, and Newcastle and England defender Burn says the togetherness they showed in that tournament should be an example to the Three Lions players.
“We’ve made a big thing about that since the very first camp we had together, about having this brotherhood and being together and I feel like a lot of the times the team that end up winning tournaments, these are the teams who are closest,” Burn explained.
“You look at Argentina and the last World Cup, you felt as if they were really fighting for each other, so that’s what we’re wanting to do.
“And I think it’s hard sometimes. You don’t see each other for a long amount of time and you have quite superficial conversations. It’s normally just, hi, how are you? But it’s about trying to get to know each other on a deeper level.
“So what the staff have created at the hotel that we’ve got now should help along with that. Obviously, there’s people that we’ve played together with before, which always helps. So, yes, just keep trying to build on that.”
