Leeds United claimed a first away win in the Premier League with a top performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
They went behind early on, but striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin pulled them back into the game with a lovely looping header.
The 28-year-old striker then won a free-kick, which Anton Stach converted to give Leeds the lead. Noah Okafor added a third to secure he win for the visitors.
Calvert-Lewin won seven of his 19 duels and won three fouls. He played one key pass and completed his one attempted long ball. Farke was impressed with Calvert-Lewin.
H said (via the BBC): “We know what Dominic Calvert-Lewin is capable of doing for us. We went for it after that goal.
“Dominic is a proven goalscorer – he has the instinct of where he has to be. He is outstanding with his head.
“It was never in doubt. We don’t even have to speak about it. He is a proven player at this level, pretty mature, leads the line and is smart in his tactical behaviour.
“He’s a goal threat up front. It’s just a matter of getting him fit today. An impressive away performance, full compliment to him.”
Leeds’ victory at Molineux underlined just how vital Calvert-Lewin could be in the weeks ahead.
For all of Farke’s tactical tweaks and the energy his side brings, having a reliable focal point is the difference-maker in a survival fight.
If the former Everton striker can maintain his fitness and keep delivering displays like this, Leeds suddenly look a far more dangerous proposition.
