Dante ‘to become’ Bayern Munich U23 coach after this season | OneFootball

Dante is expected to return to Bayern Munich this summer to take charge of the U23s, Sky Sports reports.

His 10-year spell at Nice will end when this season finishes. The Brazilian, 43, would be returning to a club where he remains highly regarded.

Bayern are said to value his experience, knowledge of the club and aptitude for teaching for a role that bridges development and the first team. The U23s operate as a second team preparing young players for senior football.

During his first stint in Munich from 2012 to 2015, he won three Bundesliga titles, the 2013 Champions League and the German Cup. His professionalism and leadership left a strong impression.

At Nice since 2016, the captain is regarded by supporters as a club legend. He reached the 2022 Coupe de France final, a 1-0 defeat to Nantes. A return to Germany would underline a logical move into coaching for the former Brazil international.
