Leicester City are searching for a new manager after a second successive relegation to League One, with Darren Ferguson linked to the vacancy.
According to talkSPORT, the former Peterborough United manager would be open to taking the job at the King Power Stadium. The report suggests the club will part company with Gary Rowett after an improved run failed to avert relegation.
City finished second from bottom, and a six-point PSR deduction proved decisive in sending them down. Rowett, appointed on an interim basis after Marti Cifuentes left, has indicated he would like to help next season if the conditions are right.
He also acknowledged the role will attract plenty of interest. Ferguson has been installed as the odds-on favourite for the post.
Ferguson has had four spells at Peterborough, winning promotions from League One in 2009, 2011 and 2021, as well as three EFL Trophy triumphs.
