Bild reports that Bayern Munich’s central defensive pairing of Dayot Upamecano and Min-Jae Kim both have release clauses in their current deals.
The cost of Upamecano’s current release clause is said to be worth around €120m. The French international is in negotiations to extend his contract at Bayern and it is likely that a new release clause will be included in his new deal.
His central defensive partner, Kim, also has a release clause that is said to be worth €110m.
Previously at Bayern, it was assumed that they were the type of club not to hand out release clauses to players when negotiating contracts. However, the recent news suggests that this is a myth.
In recent months it has been revealed that Harry Kane has a release clause that is now worth €65m and must be activated by January of 2026 to allow a move next summer. While Jamal Musiala also has a release clause in his Bayern contract that is initially worth €175m before dropping to €100m in the final year of his new deal.
