Alejandro Garnacho is certain to depart Manchester United this summer, but he could still stay in the Premier League, with three clubs showing strong interest in securing his signature.

Garnacho made 58 appearances for United during an extremely difficult 2024/25 season that saw the club finish a lowly 15th place, having suffered 18 defeats and picking up just 42 points.

United had a chance to qualify for the Champions League by winning the Europa League, but this opportunity went begging as Tottenham Hotspur beat them 1-0 at San Mames, condemning the club to a season without European football.

Garnacho registered a respectable 11 goals and 10 assists, but his performances often left fans frustrated, particularly due to his inconsistent finishing and questionable decision-making in the final third.

The Argentine also butted head with head coach Ruben Amorim. Garnacho and Marcus Rashford were omitted from the United matchday squad that beat Manchester City in December, due to their attitude and poor showings in training. While Rashford failed to get back into Amorim’s good books and was consequently sent out on loan to Aston Villa, Garnacho appeared to win back the manager’s trust and was brought back into the fold.

However, Garnacho did not take kindly to being benched for the Europa League final and after the loss, he slammed the decision while casting serious doubts over his future. It didn’t help that his brother, who has gained notoriety for aiming petty digs at United managers and players, took to social media and accused Amorim of throwing the forward under the bus.

It later emerged that Amorim told Garnacho to look for a new club this summer and his services are no longer required at Old Trafford.

A subsequent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that a furious Amorim gave Garnacho a dressing down in front of the squad and told him he’d be lucky if any club comes in for him.

Despite the ongoing rift, Garnacho was included in the squad that travelled to Asia for the club’s post-season tour. However, anyone hoping this signalled a dramatic U-turn from Amorim would be mistaken.

According to Romano, both INEOS and Amorim are in agreement that Garnacho’s time at United is over.

Romano wrote on X, “Alejandro Garnacho will leave Man United, decision confirmed on player and club side — set to part ways.”

“Understand staying in Premier League serious option with 3 clubs already very keen… after Bayer Leverkusen and Italian clubs calling.”

While Romano hasn’t disclosed the names of the three Premier League clubs pursuing Garnacho, the Serie A sides monitoring his situation are clearer. Napoli and Juventus are believed to be the most interested parties in the Carrington academy graduate.
