Inter Milan have reportedly made up their mind over the future of Manchester City loanee Manuel Akanji.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Serie A giants have decided to take up the buyout clause in their loan deal with City.

Manuel Akanji moved to San Siro on deadline day, replacing Benjamin Pavard, who joined Marseille in late August.

Though the Nerazzurri signed the 30-year-old on loan, they’ve included a buyback option in their agreement with the Cityzens.

Akanji has gone from strength to strength this season, establishing himself as a new defensive cornerstone for Inter.

Indeed, the Swiss center-back has made 13 appearances in all competitions, including nine in Serie A.

Therefore, he has already convinced the club to make his transfer permanent. Inter will have to shell out €15 million to do that.

Given Akanji’s quality and experience, that seems like a bargain deal.
