Pelle Mattsson struck in the 26th minute and, with a late own goal, turned Norwich City's meeting with Portsmouth into a 1-1 draw.
He timed his run from midfield and guided a right footed finish into the bottom left (26.), putting the Canaries in front and setting the game's rhythm.
From there he knitted attacks together, completing six successful final third passes from 27 overall and taking three touches in the box, a tidy link between midfield and the forwards for Norwich.
Late on he diverted into his own net (84.), a cruel twist after steady work out of possession that had included two clearances for the Canaries.
The Canaries visit Millwall next. Portsmouth host Oxford United.
