Dede: “Kaua, you were a spectator at the Champions League home game against Atalanta. What was your first impression of the stadium and the fans?”
Kaua Prates: “I thought it was great how they cheered on the team. I was surprised when I saw that they didn't stop singing and cheering. I thought that was really nice.”
Dede: “Why did you decide to leave Brazil to come to Germany?”
Kaua Prates: “I discussed it with my teammates at Cruzeiro. The lads have been supportive and told me to seize the opportunity and that I'll be very happy. Thank God I'm here – I have to thank Jesus for everything that's happened in my life.”
Dede: “What can the BVB fans expect from you?”
Kaua Prates: “They can expect a lot of fighting spirit and commitment to win every ball. I am a player who attacks a lot, crosses a lot, looks to get shots at goal and defends very well.”
Dede: “You'll join Borussia in summer 2026; what are you most looking forward to?”
Kaua Prates: “I am very excited and talk a lot with my parents. I can hardly wait to wear the Borussia Dortmund shirt and train with the lads. I am looking forward to playing in the Champions League and discovering the Bundesliga. I am very excited and very motivated.”
Dede: “Wha do you want to achieve both personally and with Borussia Dortmund?”
Kaua Prates: “I have many dreams with Borussia Dortmund. I would love to win the Champions League and the Bundesliga. Individually, I want to improve and mature into one of the best full-backs in the world. But what were your early days here like? How did you get on?”
Dede: “It was wonderful on the pitch. Everything went well in the first season and I was playing regularly. Thankfully, I had already started to assert myself. But off the pitch, it was one of the most difficult times I've ever experienced. When I arrived here, there was no internet and no translator. I was far away from my family and I was young, just like you are now. But we integrated fully and made it work.”
Kaua Prates: “And one more question: how do I become a legend like you?”
Dede: “It's all about hard work. I think you're on the right track if you just keep doing what you're doing. I've seen you play in Brazil. You're a player who runs, never loses the ball and gives his all. Believe in God first and foremost. I can see that you're from a good family. So, you're already on the right track and you've got talent. That's the right way to go.”
